Calm parenting resources created by Laura, Health Visitor, Paediatric Nurse and founder of Raising People.

Hi, I'm Laura—a Health Visitor, Paediatric Nurse and founder of Raising People. For over 15 years I've supported families with evidence-based parenting advice, creating practical resources that help parents feel informed, reassured and confident.

Why I created Raising People

Becoming a mum myself gave me a new perspective. I know how overwhelming it can feel when you're suddenly responsible for a tiny person and expected to have all the answers.

I also know that even with professional knowledge, parenthood comes with questions, uncertainty and moments of self doubt.

That's what inspired me to create Raising People. Calm, practical support that parents can return to whenever they need it.

The heart behind Raising People

Raising People was born from a simple belief:

You're not meant to have all the answers.

Parenting doesn't need more pressure, perfection or conflicting advice.

Sometimes what we need most is calm, practical information and reassurance that what we're experiencing is normal.

My goal is to create gentle digital tools that make everyday parenting feel a little easier. Resources you can turn to during the 2am feeds, the moments of uncertainty and the times when you simply want quick, trustworthy answers.

Thank you for being here

I created Raising People to offer calm, trustworthy support that parents and caregivers can come back to whenever they need it, whether that's in the middle of the night, during a busy afternoon or whenever questions arise.

I hope these resources bring reassurance, confidence and a gentle reminder that you're not meant to have all the answers.
